E-commerce development services for the whole order.

A customer chooses a product. Your team has to deliver it. WebXd plans WooCommerce and Shopify builds around both sides of that exchange, from catalog details and checkout to payment settings, fulfillment, and the next customer question. Bring your products and operating rules so we can define a store your team can run.

01 / Describe the sellable product

One product can reveal the store you need.

Imagine Ridge Field sells a daypack in two capacities and two colors. A shopper wants the navy 24 L version, delivered to their address. That choice connects the product page to a particular stock item, price, and delivery rule. We use a representative product like this to work out the catalog before multiplying layouts across your range.

WooCommerce variations and Shopify variants can represent combinations of product options. The useful question is how your business treats each combination. Does it have its own stock? Does its weight change the shipping calculation? We define the product fields and editing tasks together, then check that the shopper's selection stays clear through cart, confirmation, and the order record.

02 / Check the platform constraints

Choose with the operating rules on the table.

A platform decision affects the work after launch as much as the storefront. We compare your catalog, checkout requirements, existing website, and connected systems against the proposed setup. The scope identifies which needs fit the platform, which need an app or extension, and which call for custom work. Ongoing subscriptions and maintenance responsibilities belong in that decision.

Shopify separates theme editing from checkout configuration. Its current documentation reserves advanced checkout customization for Plus, including eligible apps on the information, shipping, and payment pages. With WooCommerce, we examine the theme, extensions, hosting, and update arrangements as a connected setup. We confirm the actual plan and dependencies before presenting a design that relies on them.

03 / Explain the commitment in cart

Let the cart explain what happens next.

The daypack's color and capacity should remain recognizable when the shopper changes quantity or returns to checkout. We plan clear product summaries, useful errors, and a route back to editing the cart. Delivery costs and timing language need an agreed basis. If an address is unsupported or a variant becomes unavailable, the shopper needs an explanation and a workable next step.

  • Keep variant, quantity, and price visible together
  • Explain when shipping and tax can be calculated
  • Keep delivery and return policies easy to find
  • Review checkout with a keyboard and on a phone
04 / Connect money and delivery

Money and delivery need explicit instructions.

Payment setup starts with the merchant's approved provider and account access. We confirm eligibility, supported methods, and how payment status reaches the order. Shopify Payments availability depends on country and account requirements; other providers bring their own conditions. The build scope records capture and refund behavior so your team understands which actions happen in the store and which require the provider.

Shipping rules need real destinations and fulfillment locations. The navy daypack might ship to one region while another address has no available service. We configure and test the agreed rates, pickup choices, and product restrictions where supported. WooCommerce uses shipping zones. Shopify's shipping settings are evolving, so we check the store's current configuration rather than assuming every admin works the same way.

Tax configuration follows instructions your business approves with its tax adviser. Your team confirms where collection is required and which products or delivery charges need special treatment. We implement the agreed settings and check representative order totals. A calculated tax amount does not establish that registration, filing, or remittance is handled; any separate tax service needs its own scope and owner.

05 / Operate after payment

Payment is the start of an operating task.

The store team should be able to identify the navy 24 L daypack without reopening the shopper's browsing session. We review the order detail, stock changes, notifications, and fulfillment actions using the same example. Payment and shipment are separate events. A paid order still needs an agreed route to packing, pickup, or the fulfillment system that takes responsibility for it.

A return exposes another set of decisions. Who approves it? Should the item return to available stock? Is the refund partial or complete? WooCommerce documents a critical distinction: recording a manual refund does not send money back. We map the supported refund action, provider confirmation, and customer message into a procedure your team can follow, including exceptions that need a person's review.

  • Unpaid or failed payment: review before fulfillment
  • Paid, awaiting fulfillment: identify item and delivery choice
  • Shipped or collected: record the completed handoff
  • Return or refund request: check funds, stock, and communication

06 / Rehearse a complete order

Rehearse the order your team will receive.

Before release, we agree on a set of buying and operating scenarios. Your team follows a product from selection to order handling, then reviews the evidence with us. A successful payment is only one check. We also inspect failed payments, unavailable stock, delivery boundaries, and a refund path. Each result should say what was tested, what happened, and who resolves an open issue.

The handoff includes the agreed product model, configuration decisions, account responsibilities, and instructions for routine store tasks. Your team practices an edit and an order action in the chosen environment. We verify the transition out of payment test mode before opening the store. Support, future changes, and any connections to inventory or fulfillment systems are defined in the proposal.

07 / Resolve the store scope

The details that shape a store proposal.

What does an e-commerce build include?

The proposal can cover store design, catalog setup, product templates, cart and checkout configuration, payments, shipping, tax settings, and order workflows. We identify the products and scenarios included in testing, along with training and handoff. Content entry, integrations, paid apps, and ongoing operation are named separately so the scope reflects the store you actually need.

Can you build around our existing product data?

We start with a sample export and check its fields, identifiers, variants, images, and stock information. A trial import helps reveal missing or inconsistent data before the full catalog is loaded. Historical orders, customer accounts, and changed URLs require their own migration plan; they should not be assumed to follow a product import automatically.

How are cost and launch timing determined?

A small catalog with standard delivery rules has a different scope from a store with several fulfillment locations or custom ordering logic. We review product complexity, design needs, platform constraints, integrations, and the readiness of your content and merchant accounts. The proposal sets the work and decision points, with recurring platform and extension costs identified for review.

Can the store connect to our other systems?

That depends on the systems, available interfaces, and ownership of each record. We establish which system controls stock and where orders must be sent, then assess an existing connector or a scoped integration. The agreement needs a way to inspect failed or repeated updates so an order does not disappear between the store and the team fulfilling it.

Will our team manage products and orders after launch?

We plan the handoff around the tasks your team expects to perform and the permissions each role needs. That includes agreed product edits and order actions, with documentation for the chosen setup. Your team retains the operating decisions, including return policies and tax instructions. Maintenance and additional training can be scoped according to the platform and responsibilities.
